November Update

It’s been many months since I’ve written here. Much has been happening in my life – and I am sure also in yours!

It’s time to share an update.

2020 has been a heck of a year. That’s an understatement!

On the home front it has been a challenge. Wayne (my son) was diagnosed as a diabetic, but only after several trips to the emergency department with blinding headaches, dizziness etc.

Thanks to a smart young doctor, they finally decided to test blood sugars, after having done every other kind of test they could think of.

It’s been a long road as the diabetes meds interfered with the anti-psychotics. Major adjustment of meds that’s taken until last week to finally be complete.

He’s doing well, which means I am doing well too!

It is at times like these that we realise how important it is to have family close by. Extremely fortunate to have my whole family around including Mum, Dad, my siblings and my lovely daughter who is such a wonderful help in so many different ways.

On the business front

I am very blessed and grateful to have had an abundance of work. When everyone else was in lock down with no work, my cup was overflowing. I didn’t dare let up in case it all went “pop” – thankfully it did not.

I honestly believe the only reason I did well is because I have honed my ability to create and maximise opportunities, to innovate and to always be willing to take a bold step.

Helping clients get really strategic, generate new income streams and at times do a full pivot (I know some of you hate that word!) is what’s kept me busy and the dollars flowing into the coffers.

The lines between business and personal are more and more blurred these days – not like when I first started my career πŸ™‚

COVID-19 blurred those lines even further as everyone needed to work from home.

Zoom calls became the norm. Thankfully, I’ve had years of practice using this tech, had a great mic and felt comfortable doing them.

I fronted a couple of online events, did a number of online facilitations and presented workshops all from the comfort of home.

I’ve made the decision to add a Talking Business section to this blog and do away with the one that was exclusively Dragon Sisters.

It just makes sense to combine things for several reasons:

  • Easier to administer
  • Cost effective
  • I am the front face for Dragon Sisters

Now I know there are over 600 of you following here, so if you are not interested in business stuff – skip over it πŸ™‚

Similarly if you do have friends or family in business that might find value in what I write…why not invite them to follow?

If you have your own wisdom to share from a business perspective – I am going to be welcoming guest posters very shortly so hit me up πŸ™‚

Fly like a dragon!
