Liebster Award

Thank you to Marie Griffiths @mariegriffith for nominating me for the Liebster Award and I’m honoured that you have chosen me.

The Liebster Award is given to bloggers with less than 200 followers and involves answering a series of questions posed by the nominator. So here we go:

1.) Describe your most embarrassing moment.

Many, many years ago I made an awful blunder when a colleague, who was on maternity leave brought in her new baby for us all to admire. An old man was holding the baby and I made the dreadful mistake of saying “You’ve got  a beautiful grandson” – he was the father not the grandfather! He was about 25 years older than my colleague and I was so embarassed! I’ve never again made an assumption like that!

2.) What’s one of your favorite movies?

I don’t really have favourites but if I had to choose a selection to take with me to a desert island I’d say Sound of Music, Ghost, Grease

3.) The beach or the mountains?  Why?

The beach. I love the sound of the waves whether they are ferociously beating or gently lapping. Looking out to sea also allows my imagination to roam to far off lands.

4.) If you could go back to any time in history when would it be?

Ohhh, there are so many places I would love to be transported back to. I’d love to go to India in days of the Raj and to Andalucia when it was under Muslim rule because so many amazing building were constructed in those days.

5.) What is your favorite meal of the day?

Definitely dinner because that’s when workday is over and I can relax over a lovely meal without worring about the time.

I’d noliebsterw like to nominate the following three blogs for this award:

The Short Story Press

Make It Your Problem

 Angela Seager

They are each totally different bloggers but I find them all interesting as I hope you may too.

My questions for the nominees are:

1) Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

2) Person you most admire?

3) What is the best life tip you have to share?

4) Favourite way to spend a holiday?

5) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?

Once again, thanks Marie 🙂

  1. Hi Michelle
A million apologies for the late reply…
May I kindly thank you for nominating me for the LIEBSTER AWARD, it is such an honour and I’m really grateful. I would love to accept! The delay in my response is due to my daughter’s departure to Sydney, Australia. Whilst she was so looking forward to the one year career gap, upon arrival it has been overwhelming for her to be a female solo traveller, half way around the world without a soul. Therefore I’ve put my life on hold until I feel she’s settled in. I’m an avid follower of travel bloggers, and I feel that somehow or other, it may not suit all solo female travellers because what they don’t explain is that the paid solo travellers usually have a crew with them (photogs, PR etc…) and all the beefed up blogs are just that. No-one truly knows anything about a place until they’ve lived there as a local (this is only my opinion). So I’m hoping that my daughter will soon settle in Sydney…only time will tell…
